Wensleydale pub and hotel in a great location in this picturesque village. As a pub,the fifteenth century inn works well with a choice of good beers. As a hotel, it's a disaster with very shabby ,cold rooms poorly furnished and with many defects. I can make allowances for the age of the property and the effects of the storm but the lack of basic maintenance and absence of customer focus is appalling. The heating system is capable but needs to be available 24 hours in rooms with no insulation and draughty windows. The attitude of the management team is defensive rather than accepting responsibility and correcting or fixing what is wrong/broken. Learn from my bad mistake and avoid this hotel.
