The check in process could be clearer I'm not sure if this was an issue with hotels.com who I booked through or the venue but I didn't receive any check in instructions and when I got to the location the restaurant was closed and I was sat outside nearly an hour making phone calls trying to get in. That said the room was lovely for what I paid and once I was in the staff that I saw were really friendly and acommodating. The location is perfect for where my office is when I need to be in Durham so I would definitely stay again.

The thermostat to the radiators didn’t work so we couldn’t turn the temperature down and were therefore uncomfortably hot and got limited sleep. The mattress added to the lack of sleep as it was very uncomfortable. The door to our room you could close from the inside with a hard shove but you couldn’t close from the outside so we couldn’t leave anything valuable in the room. The bathroom shelf was sitting at a jaunty angle and therefore we couldn’t put anything on it. The shower was more of a dribble than a shower. Having said all of that, it was neat and clean and a fraction of the cost of other local hotels.
