The hotel bills itself as 'adults only' which means it isn't suitable for families, but it is a lovely hotel for a couple wanting to explore the strange and wonderful town of El Rocio and the surrounding wildlife of Donana National Park. We had a room with a view over the lake and awoke to the sight of hundreds of flamingos and other wonderful birds. Like most Spanish hotels, there is no kettle or coffee maker in the room, and you may need to ask for extra pillows and bedding, but otherwise it was a comfortable, spacious room with a balcony overlooking the lake and an excellent shower. Parking was free, check in was friendly, and the hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from the Hermitage and restaurants. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here very much.

The hotel is in good condition and is situated in a wonderful location on the edge of the lake. Unfortunately the service provided did not live up to this. We were not provided with a key to the main door, which was kept locked when the receptionist was not at her desk (this involved an international phone call to get in). The rooms were pleasant but did not have a lake view as requested, and the bedding was not particularly clean (stains/hairs). The dining/sitting room had a great lake view and was a nice place to relax; it had a bar but this was not staffed. A coffee machine was installed there during our stay (there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms). The website suggested that breakfast arrangements were in place but this was not the case; we had to buy breakfast in the restaurant next door.
