This was meant to be a 4star hotel stay for a night prior to a well awaited break in Italy. However it was disappointing on a number of points. Firstly while I realise a 17th building will not have lifts there was zero offer of help with bags up a lot of staircases. Soundproofing is aLos non existent with Stansted so close. I think the hotel needs to look ant putting secondary glazing in to help reduce the noise. Luckily we had earplugs! Other issues encountered were smelly drains in the bathroom, electric points not working by bed, no bulb in night light. In the restaurant the lights had a constant flicker which the staff said was a constant issue. Would be a nightmare for someone with epilepsy! Also the sea bass fillet served that evening was the smallest piece of fish!!! We asked for another piece as it was serious tiny!!! Up side - comfy clean bed. We wouldn’t return again sadly.

TAKE EARPLUGS! The hotel is directly under the flight path. Double bed is only a standard 4’6” - too small for 2 adults in this day and age (and also it’s quite firm!). Very friendly staff.

The restaurant was amazing the food was excellent, the rice for the room I had was over priced and didn't realise that it was at the end of the Stanstead runway very noisy it is a good airport hotel but not a weekend away It s in a beautiful setting
