Welcoming staff, albeit it feels a bit understaffed. Clean but carpets are in a poor state. The main issue is that my wife and I are both just under 6’ and in room 8 there is a shelf unit on the wall next to the bathroom. With the position of the bed and the entrance to the bathroom being tight both of us hit our heads on the shelf a few times and in my case cut my head. Raised this with staff and eventually we were moved another room. Being a retired safety director I was very surprised that situation like this had not been identified before. The owner did come to see us but had didn’t really understand her responsibilities to provide a safe place for the public to stay even if the they are tallish. She offered a free meal/drink, however we are not raising this issue to gain favour. ! Just hope they check their other hotels for similar issues. On a really positive note the food was really great.
