We paid £150 for bed and breakfast. Our room was mediocre at best, there were no bedside tables, the curtains were hanging off the hooks, there was a small child screaming for 90 minutes from 12 midnight until 1.30am, in the next room and the walls were paper thin. There was a huge grey stain on the bedroom wall. There were no shelves at all in the bathroom, meaning we had to store our wash bags/make-up on the floor, beside the toilet. The whole experience was just poor. Breakfast was ok, the receptionist and the breakfast waiter were lovely. The breakfast room was completely without character, noisy and we were not give any instructions about the self service area - which we discovered where we should have made our own toast. There was construction work going on outside, so the whole of the front wall of the perimeter, was covered in scaffolding and building materials. We understood that they were having some work done but the rate should have reflected this and it would have been good to have been warned about this - I would have expected to pay £75 maximum for this experience. Very, very disappointing. The photos on the hotels.com website did not reflect the property at all - shocking experience - we did complain, and the receptionist was sweet, but we were offered nothing except a 'thanks for letting us know', which I found unbelievable, given the experience we had.

Really clean and comfortable. Room nice and big. Temporary parking for a car to unload/load, main hotel and parking a short walk away (this will get easier when current building work on the street is complete). Steps into property so not ideal if mobility is a problem for you, but it's an old building). Only downside was the wifi didn't work, but there's an adequate mobile signal and we didn't come here to experience the wifi so not a problem). Would definitely use again.
