Just got back from a couple of days spent at South sands . The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Our bedroom was spacious, clean and comfortable. Had a meal in the restaurant and also in the bar area. Food was delicious. Also breakfast was very tasty each morning, with a very good selection each day. Location was great for what we wanted. There was an option of a ferry from the hotel into Salcombe and return whilst we were staying. There is a 40 minute walk into Salcombe, which is hilly in places, but the ferry is an option if you prefer. Would definitely like to return one day soon.

Fabulous beach front hotel. Good parking. Friendly and efficient staff. Room 23 on second floor at end of corridor (cosy but not big enough for more than 2 fit adults). I would recommend going through South Sands hotel to get the room you want. Breakfast was great and food at the hotel second to none (didn’t pay the optional 12.5 % service charge). Housekeeping provided a mattress topper the second day as the mattress was a bit too firm for us. Also gave us decaffeinated coffee and tea for the room. Good bar. Great outside seating overlooking the beach. Dog friendly. Can highly recommend.
