This place has a lot of style points. It was built in the 1940's and then renovated in 2019. The highlight is the Neon Mallard bar on site and the Kips restaurant next door. I had a couple of issues with the place so I can't recommend it. First it has a person-less check-in process. That would be fine if it worked but I tried it twice and got errors each time which was a bit frustrating. However it must have worked somehow because about 30 min later I got an email saying I checked in successfully. If you are going to have online check-in it better be bullet proof. The second issue was with the air conditioning. Although the unit looked modern it just couldn't cool our room. I didn't have a thermometer on me but I had to sleep without any sheets or blankets for most of the night. Finally around 5 am I could actually use a sheet. There is a number to text if you have issues and I did. They came within 15 min and they said they reset the unit whatever that means but the second night was a repeat of the first night. The manager said the unusually hot summer was causing their air conditioners a bit of trouble. The ironic thing is that the highs were around 80 degrees and the the low both nights was 50 degrees. All I needed to do was open the windows and it would have been much cooler. It is probably fine in the winter but avoid this place when the highs are above 70.

Our room was exactly what we needed with the kitchenette. The Motel is charming and we loved the bar next door. Restaurants and coffee are in walking distance.
