The hotel overall offered a very good price for a reasonably convenient location, the bed itself was nothing to get hyped about, but it just about beats out a sofa bed. There was an Air Conditioning (or just Heater/Cooler) unit in the room, but the control panel just flashed "E3" repeatedly and otherwise done nothing whilst it was turned on - there was however a small fan in the room which was OK as a backup. Parking is plentiful and we had no trouble finding a space, even when arriving back to the hotel late at night. All the staff we spoke to were very pleasant. If I wanted a more comfortable sleep, because of the bed I'd choose elsewhere, but for the price we paid it was a good option for a bed and then breakfast buffet the following morning.

After I arrived, I found there was no free wi-fi. The receptionist told me, it had stopped working the day before. So, I went to the nearby McDonalds to use their free wi-fi as I had to send a few emails. The next day, I had to be at the Alexander Stadium. I found there was only the 126 bus, across the road, which went to the city centre. It ran every half an hour. After I returned, I asked the receptionist about the wi-fi and was told, it still wasn’t working. I went back to the city centre, for the athletics evening session, and found the bus stop in Colmore Row had free wi-fi. Also, there was a McDonalds on the way to the 51 and X51 bus stops and I would occasionally go in to use their free wi-fi or Tesco which was a bit of a walk. There was still no free wi-fi the next day, so as I felt like a broken record, I decided to use the Asda’s free wi-fi (across the road from the hotel) before going back to the stadium. I found the bus stop, after the BMW/ Mini on the Wolverhampton Road, a bit nearer to walk back to the hotel than getting off after Aldi and Asda. Nearby is Titford Pools and I had a nice quiet walk round it on the Sunday before I went back to the stadium for the last time. If I had a problem with my breakfast, it was sorted out straight away.
