Hotels in Vancouver, particularly on the weekend 1thousands of people are boarding cruise ship departures, are incredibly expensive. I chose this hotel because it was the least expensive option. Although by the standards of any other city in America and Canada, the room price was high. The location is excellent. The staff was nice. But it’s a low rise four story old hotel, probably a single room occupancy hotel from the turn of the 20th century. A minimal amount of money has been spent in upgrading the rooms. The room was very basic. The tub in the bathroom had lost large parts of porcelain which they had attempted to cover with paint which was coming off. The TV options were the worst I’ve ever encountered in a hotel. But it was only for one night. The bed was comfortable. It was quiet. The room was not huge, but it was not tiny. And it served my needs before boarding the ship. I could not see paying half the cost of my 14 day cruise to spend one night in a Vancouver hotel, which is what the prices of many of the hotels were .

hotel was great, the two gentlemen at the counter were very nice. helped us figure out where to go and where to avoid in the city and gave great recommendations. i got the king suite room which i didn’t know was going to be as nice as it was, paid less than $300 and was extremely happy. you can tell the building is on the older side but everything works exactly as it should and the location is great. the water pressure is amazing too.
