The room is clean and comfortable although a bit small, it is understandable because the location is very convenient and Close to attractions. The staff are very friendly

Very helpful and accommodating staff. Hotel situated in quiet area but in easy reach of the city. Perfect location to wander around and get a feel of the wider city. Breakfast was great.

Sorry...The Thistle was not my cup of tea. The neighborhood was fine and the young man at the desk was very nice. It foyer looked great as you entered but I was given a large room on the ground floor/basement. My suite showed its wear...the beds were clean and neat and the bathroom was modern but the walls everywhere showed their age with darkened smudge marks. The window to the suite was held open about 4 inched by a block of wood. When I looked out there was nothing separating me from the outside..meaning wildlife could have gotten in...and the window frame was grotty looking. The window also could not be adjusted since the counter weights did not exist. For what I paid ( and for really any price) for this overnight stay, I had expected much more. Sorry, I'd pass this place up next time. In its day it may have been really special. Today...not so special.
