On a positive there is car parking and the towels were fine. The staff were very friendly and apologetic. We didn't eat at the hotel - due to prior plans but the menus looked great. There is breakfast available and 2 restaurants for the evening. The restaurants looked clean and well presented. My double bed was comfortable. There was a kettle, tea, coffee, biscuits and a hair dryer. Lots of hot water in the shower. The hotel interior is tired, which we expected (we didn't book a 5 or even a 4 star hotel) but we came across more than 1 issue in room 206 which, sadly, we can't overlook. All issues easily rectified with a bit of TLC. The shower riser was broken, we found hairs on the sheets, the duvet cover on the single bed was a double on a single duvet, which seemed bizarre. The tilers had managed to leave grout all over the tiles (which made it look cheaper than it was) and it was dusty. A bit of bleach and a good scrub of the units, a run around with a duster and well fitted, clean sheets would have made a huge difference. If the above were addressed the hotel would be perfect for those not looking for 5 star accommodation. There are 2 parts to the Peacock hotel - it's possible that the rooms in the annex are better.

Room and bathroom were in need of decoration and repainting. Also appears that the room would need a deep clean and a freshen up. I asked four times to have the shower looked at as it wasn’t working properly at all. Nothing was done about this and it wasn’t fixed. Disappointing at best, unfortunately, I won’t be back.
