Having read previous reviews, our expectations were low. Only to find in booking in that the rooms were very good. Spacious, clean and with good facilities. The only criticism internally was the carpet could benefit from either cleaning or replacing. The stairwells could also benefit from a paint refresh. The staff go beyond on providing customer service and trust they are getting rewarded accordingly. The food, although the service was slow, the evening meal was very good but the portions were on the small side. More garlic bread with the Chilli please. The breakfast was excellent. Now the golf course, the greens regardless of the fact that we were told they were being maintained they are the worst greens we have seen in 50 years of playing golf elsewhere. One of our party was friends with the previous owner 10 years ago and the course then was immaculate. It still has the same potential but needs investment. Then it would be a lovely place to come for Golfing Weekend and also maybe a Wedding venue. My final statement, is that you ran out of Guinness.

I was staying over with work and the reviews were a mixed bag,I found the hallways were a bit worn and dated BUT they have got workmen in working on this, the rooms were spotless, the gym, steam room and jacuzzi was an added bonus, again the pool was missing a few tiles on the side of the pool but this was being fixed, the changing rooms are also being renovated, the evening meal I had from the restaurant was lovely,as was the breakfast in a nice tranquil restaurant, the staff were excellent and so polite, give it a go
