I’ve stayed here three times, and the biggest reason I keep coming back is the location. It’s close to where I need to be when I travel to Arcata, which makes the trip easier. The place feels safe and comfortable and covers what I need for my stay. Nothing fancy, but it does the job, and sometimes convenience is the whole selling point.

The hotel is old and in an odd situation with a parking lot in back, a business right up against the front side and a fence right up against the back side. To register and check in required stopping in the parking lot access driveway. Once in the lobby, there was no desk clerk present but a screen popped up and a person on the screen greeted me and asked for ID and credit card to be placed on a scanner and then produced a form to sign on the screen and spewed out 2 credit-card type room keys and a receipt for each room. At this point a person appeared at the desk to see how it was going, checking in through a screen. I indicated I was not impressed. We then thought we could drive to the room but soon realized we had to come back, unload luggage through the lobby, and then drive the car to the back parking lot. The rooms were clean but worn. The breakfast was very good and we appreciated tables and chairs to sit down and have waffles.
