I was abruptly awakened by someone banging on my hotel room door. Before I had an opportunity to answer, the front desk clerk opened the door to my occupied room while I was sleeping. She told me I had only paid for one night and had missed checkout. I was confused because I had paid for two nights. I explained that I would retrieve my receipt and bring it to the front desk within a few minutes, simply asking for enough time to wake up and gather myself. Instead, she rudely told me I had five minutes and slammed the door. I immediately went to the front desk with my receipt. The clerk and manager were discussing the situation in an unpleasant and unprofessional manner. I showed them my receipt proving I had paid for two nights. The manager initially continued to question the situation but eventually said, “Let me look into it.” After checking his system, he realized the hotel had made the mistake and dismissed it as a “miscommunication.” When I pointed out that the error was on the hotel’s end, I was accused of having an “attitude.” I explained that I had worked a 14-hour shift the night before and had just fallen asleep when I was abruptly awakened. Despite this, neither employee offered an apology for the payment error, the manner in which I was awakened, entering my occupied room, or the way I was treated afterward. Instead, the focus was placed on criticizing my reaction to a situation caused by the hotel’s own mistake.

This hotel was incredibly run down. If you dont care about cleanliness or safety then stay here. There were dead bugs all over the ceiling. The bathtub was dirty. The stairs were falling apart and the elevator was old and raggedy. I definitely do not recommend.

Upon arrival, no AC in the lobby, my room key did not work, door would not even open for the manager, so they got me into another room. There was a guy in only shorts passed out in a balled up position on the concrete stoop in front of a first floor room, manager called EMS for possible OD, ambulance & firetruck arrived but did not transport from what I could tell. The room AC had been off until my arrival and the room was quite hot, it cooled down but took quite a while. I finally just crashed because I needed to sleep. In the morning, the breakfast area was not too well maintained and there were multiple flies everywhere to be fought off during my breakfast. There appeared to be a lot of travel construction guests, not a big deal in itself, but in my travels I have learned that sometimes they can also bring drug dealing, use & prostitution activity with them. There were families staying there, but I am glad I was alone on this trip. Probably a reasonable hotel in the country of India or Mexico, but in the U.S. I consider it very, very substandard.
