Unfortunately this stay was dreadful. After a 4 hour drive I arrived check in was fairly simple but the hotel was quite run down. I got to my room only to find bed bugs 🐛 I was mortified, I immediately notified the manager to which she came back to the room so that I could show her to which she said "Oh yes I can see them you must of disturbed them" then proceeded to tell me the hotel was booked up and i would have to find an alternative. To which I did at midnight thankfully. I did receive a refund after chasing it up. The co manager said he had to get all the facts together before issuing a refund. I would of expected a letter of apology but unfortunately I never received one.

I stayed here with my daughter and parents for 2 nights either side of our holiday to Cornwall and it was lovely! The room was spacious and had everything we needed and breakfast was delicious. We had dinner in the restaurant and was all cooked beautifully. The staff were also so friendly. I read the reviews re the decor etc but honestly, this to me added to the ‘homely’ feel. We stayed over a weekend and was the quietist hotel we have ever stayed at overnight re sleep quality…..so peaceful. Highly recommend.

Room was clean and quiet atmosphere, staff friendly and helpful, food in the restaurant was delicious. Perfect stop for plenty of destinations in the area.
