I stayed here before a 4day backpacking trip and the night we got off trail. Excellent spot. Had laundry and delightful room and hot shower. Lodge vibe, hiker friendly. They even had a hiker box I could donate left over meals and fuel.

We chose the Cowlitz River Lodge for its good reviews and convenient location for visiting Mount Rainier National Park. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet our expectations, and we found the value for money disappointing. The room was quite basic, with some details that could definitely be improved: there was a cobweb on the ceiling, stained pillowcases, and the smoke detector was missing, leaving exposed wires hanging from the ceiling. The bed also had an unusual metal frame that made annoying noises, especially when sitting or leaning on the edges. We understand that accommodation in such a popular tourist area can be expensive, but considering the price, we expected a better overall standard. One lovely highlight was seeing deer in the meadow in front of the lodge in the evening, a very special and unexpected sight. Overall, convenient for visiting Mount Rainier, but we would choose a different option next time.
