Building work going on when I stayed, The room was a little small but adequate for my one night, there was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, The staff were very helpful and polite, For what I got I thought the price was way over the top as I've stayed in better for a lot less

Very disappointing accomodation from a brand like Hilton. Stayed in a 2-bedroom family room in an annexe building. The annexe was very shabby and the exterior door did not even close. The room itself was in terrible condition with scuffed walls, filthy woodwork, ripped carpet, leaking heater, no mirrors in useful places and a serious damp problem. The breakfast was the worst I have ever had - very limited choice and cold. Sorry to say that we won't be returning.

The staff were pretty miserable- no social interaction at all. We were very early and mentioned the inconvenience of 4pm check in, and asked when was earliest time. All I got was 4pm! When we did try again at 3.45pm, we were told our room was ready only to be directed to the furthest darkest corner of the site and up a steep staircase. Thankfully the room - no. 46 - was being decorated (how did reception not know this?) - there was no way I was staying in that room. Nowhere on hotels.com or Hilton's website does it state rooms up steep staircases. Indeed in their general points it mentions "lift", which is one of the reasons for choosing this hotel. Allocating rooms away from the building where customers think they will be staying is out of order. The one good thing came out of this was that we were reallocated a lovely room (although very warm room with a desk fan) on the 2nd floor of the main building. Will now always check where our room is before we travel!
