First impressions were good. Room & bathroom clean. Got very warm during the night even though there was no heating on. Shame the main dining room wasn't open on Monday/Tuesday it looked a better menu choice than the brasserie. Overall staff were polite but the attitude during breakfast was generally unattentive & brusk. Would I go back? Probably

Nice hotel , lovely room , staff let it down The hotel is in a fabulous location on the waterfront and our room was comfortable and clean overlooking the lake . We were planning to have lunch there before using the pool and then heading out to a wedding in the area, however on arrival - and only after we checked in - we were told the restaurant was closed due a problem with the water supply . This was annoying as we’d already checked lunch serving times that morning and were not informed of this despite it being planned maintenance 😡. The staff seemed unaware of the problem and indifferent when I gave feedback. As a result we had to go back out for lunch and were left with no time to use the amenities. Breakfast the next morning was ok but quite busy and chaotic and disorganised . Eg I asked for hot milk with my coffee and was told the milk element on the coffee machine was broken . When I requested if they could warm me some in the microwave this was met with a reluctant ok . Overall I would not rush back as there are so many lovely properties in the Lake District to choose from .
